How is R3Data different to all the other online backup solutions? - R3Data is managed by a company with over 13 years of data management experience, having managed data for many of the countries largest organisations and government departments.

Rather than being hosted in a shared data centre where management access and other limitations of working practices (and inherent high costs) occur, R3Data is privately owned and resourced including direct access to up to 1GB of bandwith from BT. Therefore the solution is specified and priced aggressively at small and medium businesses, where the typical cost of data backup on a regular and controlled basis is prohibitive in terms of time and cost.

R3Data haven’t started with a consumer product and grown up, we have started with a solution aimed at corporate branch office, medium and small business needs and only address and support this customer base. Further we are UK based and ONLY accept data and subscribers from the UK

One critical aspect of the R3Data Online Backup solution is the use of USB hard disks for both the initial backup and in the event of critical data loss where we would return the bulk of the data to the subscriber anywhere in the UK within 24 working hours.

While in transit the data has no value to anyone, as the encryption key is held by the subscriber and NEVER by R3Data or any of its agents.

Of course web and application restoration is also possible.

R3Data can offer two levels of service, silver where one remote copy of your data is held and gold where we hold your data in two data centres for secure storage.

In addition to Backup R3Data will also shortly be offering compliant archive storage, ensuring your data is held in compliance with many of todays compliance regulations.

Finally, you can always talk to a real person on a real telephone, not a virtual company on an 0870 number.

How do I know my data is secure? - Data is encrypted before it leaves your computers. Only you have the key to 'unlock' your data, and R3Data staff have no access to the unencrypted data. For a full technical explaination, download this document

I have 2 offices. Do I need 2 accounts? - No, not necessarily, but the management needs to be considered carefully. If you have multiple sites we suggest that you call us to discuss your requirements in detail.
